10 Reasons To Use Ubuntu As Your Operating System

1.The Cost. It is completely free, you can download and burn it or they will send you a free cd. The majority of software is also free.

2.Stability. As with the majority of Linux distros its stable and will not bog down over time like some other operating system does

3.Speed. Its extremely fast for all it offers. I do know that there are faster distros but they don't bring to the table what Ubuntu does

4. Ease of use. To be honest I was worried about learning the gnome interface but was flying around within minutes . I have always heard that all versions of Linux were difficult to use, but Ubuntu is easier than windows from installing the operating system to installing software

5.Support. The Ubuntu forms are amazing. I watched someone post a question and within 10 minutes they had an answer. The users are friendly helpful and active 24 hours a day.

6.Driver Support. When I installed ubuntu and first logged in it told me there was proprietry drivers for my video card and made it extremely easy to install them. everything else was installed perfectly. With windows I had to download drivers for my network card, video card, and sound card, then install reboot install reboot install reboot. Drivers are not a problem like many are led to believe

7. Visual Appeal. With Compiz Fusion the visual appeal is eye popping.

8. Security. With Ubuntu You have a very very tiny chance of getting spyware or a virus. With the other operating system I was using I would remove at least 24 pieces of spyware per week.

9. Updates. The Integrated Software Update Tool not only updates the operating system but also installed applications. No more going to the site or using the application update button they just get updated

10.It works and works right
